Mattie Jo Irwin

Mattie Jo Irwin, age 83, died on June 10, 2017. She was an artist, writer, avid reader, and business woman for many years. Her husband, Bruce Irwin, died in September 2014. She is survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Wall, Stuart, Cato, and Irwin families. She will be missed by many New Mexicans who enjoyed Bruce’s music and her wry sense of humor. As those who knew her best will understand, she insisted on no funeral or memorial service. She read some of the classics and would have approved of Cervantes’ view. “ Until death, it is all life.”
