Matthew John Walker, 45, of Albuquerque passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He was born on July 24, 1973, in Great Falls, Montana, to Ann (Luteyn) Dean and Lester Walker. He was predeceased by his beloved stepfather, Nowlan Dean.
Matt was a graduate of the University of Arizona with a BS in finance in 1995. He went to Fairborn High School in Fairborn, Ohio, graduating in 1991. Matt worked as a Loan Officer and a Real Estate property owner and manager. He was a skilled bass player and was passionate about music. “The Mack” as he referred to himself, was a devoted friend to animals and an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed fishing and boating during the warmer months spent with his wife, Lydia, on Lake Cumberland while at their summer home in Kentucky.
His beauty, love, influence, and humor will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia Mcmullin; and their 3 dogs, Sophie, Maggie, and Buddy; son, Ian Wiedner of Denver; mother, Ann Dean of Albuquerque; father, Lester Walker of Tucson; sister, Andrea Walker and her husband, Mark Harris; and their son, Matthew’s nephew, Leo Harris, of Albuquerque.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service which will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Blvd, NE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunflower Animal Sanctuary, http://www.sunflowersanctuary.org/Donate.html
