Matthew Jaramillo, 63, a resident of Albuquerque, NM and born in Alamosa, CO. on October 29, 1958, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Matthew, a great sports enthusiast, continues, we believe, to root for his beloved Broncos up in his new heavenly home. Matthew was also UNM's football and basketball's number one fan who continued to hold season tickets for the Lobos up until the end.
Throughout his life, and later with his traveling companion, his wife Linda, cultivated many lifelong friendships. He was a spontaneous explorer who was not afraid to get up and go. He made friends every place he went and he was known for his infectious laugh by both family and friends. Matthew enjoyed camping, fishing and exploring the wondrous beauty of NM and surrounding states. As a youth, he spent time traveling with his mother and father who served in the United States Air Force. He participated in Boy Scouts, played musical instruments, and enjoyed competing in tennis matches while in High School. Later in life, he and Linda took up dance lessons and enjoyed their time dancing together at various venues. Above everything else, he loved and cherished his one and only daughter, Natasha, with whom he had an unbreakable bond. He cherished all of his grandchildren. Matthew enjoyed life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Lito Jaramillo. Matthew is survived by his wife, Linda Jaramillo; his daughter, Natasha Fuller (husband Benjamin Sr.); his grandchildren (Peter, Madison, Lily, Evelyn, Sophia and Benjamin Jr.); his stepson, Pete Smith (partner Shannon Lucero); grandchildren Alicia and Autumn; his mother, Martha Jaramillo; his siblings, Mary Mendoza (husband Epifanio), Nathanial Jaramillo (wife Betty), Natalie Jaramillo, Greg Jaramillo, and Roxana Jaramillo (partner Victor Lee); and step-mother, Mitsue Jaramillo; along with numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, too many to list but he loved them all.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held at Tower Road Baptist Church, 601 86th St. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121 on Wednesday, December 22nd at 11:30 a.m.
Pastor Nathaniel Jaramillo will officiate the service for his brother Matthew.
