Marylou Boyer, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9th, 2021. She was a loving, caring, and happy soul who will be greatly missed.
Marylou was born December 21st, 1927, in Lansing, MI to her loving parents, Robert and Genevieve Phelps.
Her father was a colonel in the Army, and Marylou traveled with her family in her teen years to various southern military bases, and later on to Germany and Switzerland, during the post war years.
Later she moved to Chicago to start her adult life and worked as a secretary downtown. While living at a boarding home, she met Marshall Ley, and they were wed. They settled in Joliet, IL where Marshall entered into his father's law practice. Marylou and Marshall had 4 children, and Marylou stayed home to raise their children.
After her children were grown, Marylou and Marshall separated and divorced.
She ventured back into the world to pursue a master's in psychology at Governors State University. There she met and fell in love with Jacque Boyer. They were married and spent many happy years in the Chicago area, and later in Albuquerque, NM.
A few years after her beloved Jacque passed away Marylou found love again with Robert Stark. They spent the next 20 years together, traveling, and enjoying retirement.
Marylou is survived by her four sons, John, James, Thomas, and David Ley; along with her stepchildren, Jeffery, Tom and Cindy Boyer; her grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer, Christopher, Marybeth, and Marie Therese Ley; and great-grandchildren, Mari, William, Elizabeth, and Cora.
