Mary Jane (Tatom) Wilson, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Carey Wilson; and son, Randall D. Wilson. She leaves behind three daughters, Kathleen Owsley and husband, Randy of Albuquerque, Barbara Van Bibber of Albuquerque, and Cynthia Glos and husband, George of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
The daughter of J.L. Tatom and Theresa Fay Carlton, Mary Jane was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on March 3, 1929. The family moved to Albuquerque where Mary Jane attended Albuquerque High School, met and later married, David, her high school sweetheart in 1947. For over 68 years they shared their love of family, travel and outdoor life. She loved music and played the piano and recorder. She and David shared an eclectic collection of records from Ladysmith Black Mambazo to The Three Tenors. She was always singing and truly enjoyed dancing. Mary Jane was a passionate cook and baker much to the enjoyment of her family and friends. She had a keen sense of humor and will be remembered for her ready smile and caring graciousness to all she knew. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the caring doctor and staff of Presbyterian Home Hospice. Most especially the family wishes to thank Mary Jane’s caregiver and friend, Leteisha Moreland, who showed her great compassion, love and respect all the way until her last breath.
Misty is Mary Jane's treasured companion, especially since David passed four years ago. She has several complex medical conditions.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to please donate for the care of Misty to Bank of America, Heather Owsley - account number 0042 7454 0279.
