Mary Ann Rosenthal

Mary Ann Rosenthal, age 83, passed into Heaven on Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mary Ann was born in Highland, Illinois on September 15, 1935, to Victor H. and Muriel Daiber. She grew up on a farm near Marine, Illinois, and married Jerome Jesse Rosenthal on June 23, 1956 after he graduated from the University of Illinois. They moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1956 after Jesse accepted a position at Los Alamos National Laboratory. They left Los Alamos briefly to pursue other job opportunities but returned in 1964. Together they raised three sons, Mark, Scott and Paul. Mary Ann was employed by LANL in 1972 and retired in 1993, having worked in the Health and Sciences Division as an Executive Administrative Assistant. In 1996 she moved to Rio Rancho to be closer to her family in Albuquerque.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse, and brother Victor H. Daiber, Jr. She is survived by her sons Mark (wife Valerie) of Albuquerque, Scott (wife Sonya) of Butte, MT, and Paul (wife Loree) of Sun Prairie, WI, along with her beloved grandchildren Ryan, Justin and Alexa of Albuquerque, and Lucy and Lily of Sun Prairie.

Mary Ann loved fishing, boating, camping, gardening, quilting and traveling. She was an avid football and baseball fan and her favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. She was devoted to her grandchildren and spent many hours taking them to extracurricular activities and attending all of their sporting events. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

A private memorial service will be held in the spring when Mary Ann will be buried at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, NM next to her husband Jesse. Please visit our online guest book for Mary Ann at www.FrenchFunerals.com
