On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Mary Etta Yu, a beloved wife, mother, and dear friend entered in the presence of Jesus. Mary Etta grew up in Powhatan, VA but moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2000 with her husband and first child. Despite living more than 20 years in NM, she never lost her Virginia accent. While Mary Etta was an RN for a number of years, she retired from nursing in 1998 to focus on her family of which she was most proud. She homeschooled her three children and was happy to make the house where they lived into a home. In addition to caring for her husband and children, her faith in Jesus, as the one and only Savior, was vitally important. As a woman with many talents, she loved to sing, play the piano, quilt, knit, crochet, work puzzles of various kinds, and was an avid reader. A woman with a quick sense of humor, she is remembered as funny, kind, and insightful.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel; and her three children, Hannah, Joshua, and Lydia. She is also survived by her three brothers, Philip and Debra Boyer (5 children, 19 grandchildren), Daniel "Dan" and Susan Boyer (3 children, 5 grandchildren), and John and Kim Boyer (4 children, 11 grandchildren).
Mary Etta was a member of Community of Grace Church and touched the lives of many in her community.
