Mary Denise (Humphreys) Volker

Mary Volker (Grammy), aged 85, passed away on Tuesday June 20, 2023 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mary was born Monday, January 17, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to her loving parents John and Catherine Humphreys. She grew up in Denver, Colorado, where she attended Catholic School.

Mary had seven children. Sons; James Anderjeski (Tracy), and John Anderjeski (Audrey). Daughters; Velma Anderjeski, Mary Kay Herrington (Neal), Carol Banaska (John), Teresa Herrera (Reed), and Jennifer LeDoux (Brandon).  Thirteen grandchildren; Denise Marquez (Orlando), Nathan Anderjeski, Dana Gallagher (Joel), Ashlee Anderjeski, Kayla Anderjeski (Abby), Cameron Herrington (Amanda), Sean Herrington (Janae), Rachel Neubauer, Jessi McMullen, Andrea Gober, Claire Rivera (Carlos), Zach LeDoux and Sophie LeDoux. Sixteen great grandchildren; Antonio, Santiago, Anastasia, Liliana, Riley, Alexander, Jaxon, Avery, Nolen, Tanner, Wyatt, Temis, Noah, Jonah, Zak, Kylie.

Mary lived by her faith and enjoyed volunteering at her church. She often joined bible studies, helped with different activities and was proud of her mission in Guatemala. Mary volunteered at UNMH in the NICU as a baby cuddle, this volunteer work brought her so much joy.

During the summer Mary loved to garden and spend her time with her grandchildren in the backyard. Mary was known to always save the turtles running lost in the street, she even made an area in her yard for them to be safe from the hawks and feed them cantaloupe on the porch. She loved her dog, Molly. During the fall Mary loved watching football both college and professional. She was the loudest in the room cheering on her Broncos if she let anyone in the room with her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents John and Catherine Humphreys; her brothers Harry Humphreys and Peter Humphreys; her granddaughter Andrea Gober; and great-grandson Alexander Gallagher.

Mary is survived by her children James Anderjeski (Tracy), and John Anderjeski (Audrey). Daughters Velma Anderjeski, Mary Kay Herrington (Neal), Carol Banaska (John), Teresa Herrera (Reed), Jennifer LeDoux (Brandon); twelve of her grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; her brother John Humphreys; sister Katherine Arce and numerous nieces and nephews.
