Mary Solga became an angel on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the age of 99 years and 99 days. She was born in Ganado, Arizona, January 13, 1919. She graduated from high school in Farmington, NM, where she met Charles Solga. They were married on December 26, 1940. They were partners in life until his death in 1987. Family always came first, mom to everyone. She had the ultimate job of providing a stable home for her family. She was active in the Catholic Church throughout her life. Her organizations included TOPS and Roadrunners Extension Homemakers Club. She loved to travel, listen to music and watch sports. She is survived by her children, Mary Anne Pixley, Lois Miller, Dorothy (Bob) Hatten, Charlene Casey, Tom (Sandy) Solga, John Solga and Beth Solga, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Burrus and Margaret Lesky and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellen and Samuel Maus; her brothers, Howard, Samuel and John Maus; sister, Ellen Smith and niece Barbara Gifford.
A viewing will be held Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 5:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. and a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming. Mass and burial will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 7999 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Animal Humane Association would be appreciated.
