Mary Sheppe

Mary Frances Smith Sheppe, a gracious, loving wife and mother passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Mary Frances was born in Ayden, NC and moved to Washington, D.C. during WWII. There she met her future husband, Lt. Col. Frank W. Sheppe, of Silver Spring, MD. They shared more than 30 happy, exciting years of Army life in the states, Burma, several tours in France and Germany. After retirement, they returned to Albuquerque in 1974. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband and their two daughters, Paula Myers and Valerie West. She is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Myers; grandson, Harley Myers; great-grandson, Kherrington Chavez; nieces, Gladys Cox and Vickie Wood; sons-in-law, Dr. Harlen Myers and Ron West; dear friends, Evelyn and Larry West; and her best friend, Mary Dayvault. Services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at French - Wyoming. Interment will take place Monday, October 29, 2012, 9:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Mary Frances' passing is truly a painful loss to her family and the many friends who loved her. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may give to their favorite charity or church.
