Mary Belle Shafsky

Mary Belle Shafsky, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 26 years, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015. She is survived by her children, Laura Rechtenbach and husband, Dale, and Jo Ann Shafsky; four grandchildren, Scott Edwards and wife, Suzanne and Glenda Robertson and husband, Brett; four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Asher, Matt, and Kait; and many friends. Mary Belle was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Shafsky. She was born in PA in 1925 to Earl and Wyola Miller and after marrying Albert, moved to Casper, WY in 1951. Mary Belle loved to garden, work crossword puzzles and when younger was active in the bowling league. After moving to Albuquerque Mary Belle worked for Air Management Services, Inc. as an accounting clerk. She was a member of The Shrine of St. Bernadette. Mary Belle was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Casper, WY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary Belle's name to the American Lung Association.
