Mary Roybal

Mary Roybal, 91, beloved mother, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 31, 2017. She was born July 20, 1925 in Dixon, New Mexico to Jose and Erminia Valdez.
In 1941, Mary graduated from Menaul High School in Albuquerque. She married Manuel Roybal of Pojoaque, NM in 1948 at the Cathedral in Santa Fe. They were happily married for 55 years and lived in Sombrillo, NM before moving to Albuquerque.
Mary was employed by Albuquerque Public Schools for several years and retired in 1986. In addition to being an amazing cook and avid reader, Mary loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Edna Garcia, of Dixon, NM; her son, Charles (Ed) and wife Linda; her daughters, Marsha Tapia and Janice Romero; her son, Robert (Bob) and wife Yolette, and her grandchildren, Mekenna, Adrian and wife Amanda, Gabrielle, Eric, Noe, Josh and Joy.
Mary's family would like to thank the staff of Morning Star who lovingly took care of Mary over the past months.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at FRENCH - Westside, followed by interment at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe Street in Santa Fe.
