Mary C. Million, 88 former resident of Espanola and current resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, January 14th, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 2, 1929 to Fidel and Latify Merhege and married James Million on October 21, 1950 in Espanola where they built their life and family for the past 67 years.
Mary was a devoted daughter, wife and mother. She spent her life caring for her parents, husband and children till the final moments of her life. She was a beloved substitute teacher with the Espanola Public Schools for many years, assisted her husband with his business, and worked with a family owned insurance business until her retirement.
Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jim Million, daughters Geri Kasparek (David) from Albuquerque; Kathy Johnson (Max) from Roswell; Carol and Cheryl Million and close family friend Shirley Cossaboom from Albuquerque; and son Jim Million, Jr. (JaJa) from Albuquerque; grandchildren Marla Johnson; Brett Johnson (Ruth Ann); Kimberly Cannady (Randal); Ashley Garcia (Nestor); Alesh, Michael, and Skylar Million and 4 great grandchildren Kaylee and Riley Cannady; Ava and Mia Garcia. She is also survived by her sister Helen Finch of Espanola and many nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd, NW, Albuquerque. A private interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
