Mary Patricia "Pat" Mertz

Mary Patricia "Pat" Mertz, age 75, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1980, passed away quietly Wednesday, May 27, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her children, Eric, Leominster, MA; Linda, Monkton, MD; and Mike, Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren, Jim, Jennifer, Kimberly, Jon, Pete, Will, Mitchell, and Nicholas; sisters, Jeanne and Peggy; brothers, Bob and Dennis; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Dr. James Mertz. A graduate of St. Patrick Academy in Des Plaines, IL, she enjoyed an early career in the sky, as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines before meeting her husband and returning to St. Louis, MO in 1961 to raise a family. A woman of many talents, she raised her three children while managing her husband's practice, all while pursuing her many hobbies and interests. She will be greatly missed.
