Mary Mares

Age 94, went peacefully to be with our Lord on October 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe I. Mares; daughter Deedee; parents Jose R. and Juanita Chavez; sisters Nellie Whitaker, Emma McGrath, and Mary Louise Sanchez, and her brothers Father Henry Chavez, Alfred Chavez, and John Chavez. Mary is survived by her sister Tillie Will and brother Joseph Chavez and also by a special daughter Sally Potts, as well as, many family members and friends. Mary graduated from St. Mary's High School, was a beautician and avid bowler who won many tournaments in Albuquerque and throughout the State of New Mexico. Special thanks to the staff of Westwind House, Las Palomas Long Term Care Facility, and Bob Padilla of Decisions in Care. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Pallbearers are Michael Potts, Joseph R. Will, William Will, Max T. Will, James R. Chavez, and Erik Chavez.
