Mary Grace C. "Grace" Lucero

Mary Grace C. Lucero, 88, born in La Madera, NM , passed away November 2, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Pablo E Lucero, her son, Orlando Lucero and daughter-in-law, BJ Jones; granddaughter, Estrella M. Lucero and many friends and family. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Bernardita Campos, and several other special family members. Grace was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Grace grew up on a small farm in Ojo Caliente, where she helped with the chores. After some time at Highlands University Grace went to work at Los Alamos Fuller Lodge, where she served some of the atomic scientists still in Los Alamos. She then went to work for Los Alamos National Labs, where she worked as an Executive Secretary for a Lab Director. After her marriage to Pablo, they moved to Albuquerque where Grace became a homemaker. After moving back to Los Alamos in the mid 60s, Grace enjoyed being the pillar of support for her family. After moving back to Ojo Caliente to be the primary caregiver for her elderly mother, Grace and Pablo became active and engaged volunteer leaders for the church of San Juan Nepomuceno. A wonderful cook and seamstress, Grace loved sharing her talents with others and was always available to help someone in need. In their later years Grace and Pablo enjoyed traveling across the Southwest (but never by plane) to visit friends and family. While age slowly diminished some of her capacities, her faith and her love for her family remained steadfast. Grace and Pablo are faithful members of The Shrine of St Bernadette Parish. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, November 6, 2016, 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 7, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE with burial to follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
