Mary Lou Gallegos, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where she lived for 11 years.
Mary Lou was born on Thursday, October 16, 1941 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and graduated from West Las Vegas High School, later majoring in Secondary Education at New Mexico Highlands University, where she got a teaching degree. Mary Lou was a caring mother of four who dedicated her time and effort into providing a loving home for her family. She was married to her devoted husband, Arthur Gallegos for 58 years, where they started a family business together and moved to Albuquerque after retiring. The two also traveled the world together, visiting the amazing sites of Spain, Mexico, Paris, Rome, and Jerusalem. She devoted her life to her faith and her family, always attending mass and was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the altar rosary. She adored spending time with her family, including her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all saw her as a wise and caring figure who helped everyone no matter what.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; Eliseo and Candida Salas, sister; Marcela, husband; Arthur, and daughter-in-law; Judi. She is survived by her siblings; Carmen, Moises, Maria Eufelia, Romaldo Alex, and Cindy, her children; Dianne, Paul (Kathy), Anthony, and Matthew (Yulia), along with 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
