Mary Inez Lipinski was born March 20, 1921 in Lemitar, NM to Pedro R. Montoya and Julianita Luna-Montoya and fell asleep in the Lord on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was the fourth daughter of twelve children and was raised in Socorro, NM. Her son, Rev. Vincent A. Lipinski; brothers, Arsenio Montoya, Cardenio Montoya and wife Sarah, Alberto Montoya and wife Josie; and many nieces and nephews survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent "Val" Lipinski; her parents; sisters, Juanita Garcia, Lorencita Gonzales, and Angela Lucero; and brothers, Alejo Montoya, Jose Montoya, Hermino Montoya, Gilberto Montoya, and Juan Montoya.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Albuquerque since 1962. She was professed as Oblate of the Handmaids of the Precious Blood. She was an active and auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary, a promoter of the Miraculous Medal, a member of the Living Rosary and the Universal Living Rosary Association, a member of America Needs Fatima, a member of the People's Eucharistic League, a member of the Right to Life Committee of New Mexico, an auxiliary member of the Brothers of the Good Shepherd, a spiritual daughter of Padre Pio and devotee of Saint Philomena. She worked in the insurance and banking industries. Her resilient faith and dedication to family and friends was inspiring.
A rosary will be prayed Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. and a wake service Sunday, March 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., both services will be held at FRENCH - University. The Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 1860 Griegos Road, NW, celebrated by priests and deacons of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. The pallbearers, Mary's nephews: Raymond Garcia, Samuel Montoya, Jimmy Montoya, Michael Montoya, Patrick Murillo, Pedro Montoya.
