Mary Frances Jacobs Ingram (98), a native of Memphis, TN and a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1970, died Monday, May 2, 2022. She was predeceded by her parents, Ezekiel Edmond Jacobs and Mary Frances (Mayme) Harris Jacobs; her brother, Reverend Herman Edmond Jacobs and his wife, Betty June Young Jacobs; her daughter, Judith Lee Ingram Thomas of Minden, NV; her son, David Allan Ingram of Albuquerque, NM; and her husband of 68 years, Colonel Alfred (Al) Lovered Vernon Ingram, Sr. U.S. Marine Corps (retired), who died August 20, 2010.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Dianne Ingram of Albuquerque, NM and Mary Louise Ingram Taylor of Denver, CO; two sons, Captain USN (retired) A. L. Vernon Ingram, Jr. and his wife, Linda Jean Decker Ingram of Haymarket, VA and John Steven Ingram of Albuquerque, NM; two granddaughters, Kristen Michelle Ingram Blair, her husband, Sean Michael Blair, and their daughter, Alyssa Quinn Blair, of Gainesville, VA and Jill Elaine Ingram Maurer, her husband, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army, Daniel David Maurer and their daughter, Abigail (Abby) McKenna Maurer, and sons, Jake Daniel Maurer and Alexander (Alex) Finn Maurer of West Point, NY; seven grandsons, Joseph (Joe) Louis Ness and his wife, Patricia Dawn Buck Ness of Beaverton, OR; Lawrence (Larry) Steven Ness and wife, Eileen (Ellie) Mary Wallenta Ness of Aptos, CA, Colin John Masterson of Las Vegas, NM, Daniel Vernon Ingram, his wife, Michelle Marie Griffis Ingram, two daughters, Ashley Marie Ingram and Emily Mae Ingram, and son, Ryan Daniel Ingram, of Haymarket, VA; Benjamin (Ben) Travis Meadows-Ingram, his wife, Ileana Mariangeles Lagares and their daughter, Alma Maria Legares-Ingram of Brooklyn, NY; Justin Barrett Taylor, his wife, Janeka Elissa Childs Taylor, and sons, Jackson (Jackie) Barrett Taylor, Jericho (JJ) James Taylor and Justice Elijah Taylor of Denver, CO and Joshua Ingram Taylor of Denver, CO. Mrs. Ingram is survived by her sister, Vivian Lorena Jacobs Herrington Penny of Memphis, TN, and her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Marie Martinez Ingram (David), of Albuquerque, NM.
Mrs. Ingram was extremely active in Southern Baptist Life in New Mexico. She taught Bible study classes and was active in the Woman's Missionary Union (WMU) having served as WMU Director in both First Baptist and Del Norte Baptist Churches and Central Baptist Association. She also served on the state WMU executive board and the New Mexico Baptist Convention Executive Board in 1979. In 1980, she and her husband volunteered for missionary service in the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and served eleven years in six countries; the Philippine Islands, Zimbabwe, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Spain and Ecuador. After returning from overseas, she resumed WMU affiliations, Bible Study teaching and served as New Mexico Literacy Consultant for the North American Mission Board. Mrs. Ingram was a faithful, active member of both First Baptist and Del Norte Baptist Churches, Albuquerque.
She will be missed for she was always a happy, smiling person and an eternal optimist who had a kind word for everyone. It was a joy and a pleasure to be in her company for she was a dedicated Christian lady whose very presence brightened lives! A private Memorial Service will be officiated by Reverend Kevin Warner.
