Mary Rose Grummer, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 96 in Albuquerque. She was born Mary Rose Buthod, on June 10, 1922 in Tulsa, OK. Mary Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles John Grummer, her son, Theodore (Ted) Grummer and her grandson Peter Sims. She is survived by her sister, Helen Hayes, of Tulsa, OK; children, John Charles (wife Diane) of Charleston, SC, Ann (husband Tom) Sims of Albuquerque, Eileen (husband Tom) Paez of Albuquerque, Marilyn (husband Geoff) Dorn of Broomfield, CO, Janet (husband David) Pedneau of Fairfax, VA, Ralph (wife Roberta) of Richland, WA, Martin (wife Marilyn Kelly) of Albuquerque, Judi (husband Howard) Stallings of Albuquerque, and Larry (wife Sara) of Geneva, Switzerland; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mary Rose was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Annunciation parish for over 55 years. She was active in the Altar Society, the Living Rosary, and the Marionites. For many years, she sang in the church choir and was a Eucharistic Minister. Mary Rose was a lifelong volunteer, giving of her time and talents to UNM Hospital, Birthright, and Right to Life, among others. A Visitation will be on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Birthright, Right to Life, or a charity of your choice.
