Mary C. Gorenz

Mary C. Gorenz, age 92, who was loved by everyone who knew her, was called to Heaven by the Lord to join her late husband Lou, on May 24, 2023, peacefully knowing that her family was there to support her. Mary was born to Donald and Maude Faichney in Wichita Falls, Texas, September 15, 1930. She attended an all-girls Catholic School and Texas Tech. She met her future husband Lou and were united in marriage on April 18, 1952, in Mary's hometown. They enjoyed this bond for over 70 years.

In 1958 they moved to Albuquerque to fulfill their dream of raising a family. In addition to running the household, managing the kid's growth and education, she worked as a Loan Officer for SW Mortgage.

Mary attended Catholic Church and was blessed with a very long and happy life, while enjoying Beta Sigma Phi Sorority leadership and activities, knitting, caring for grandkids and great- grandkids, and friendly competitive bridge throughout her life. She enjoyed frequent RV-ing, boating, NASCAR trips and Christmas Tree hunting with family. As a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, she attended 2 games with family. Her most cherished moments were when the family gathered at her home for special occasions.

She is survived by her 6 children, Fred and Annette Gorenz, Don and Joyce Gorenz, Maura and Mark Dahrling, Debbie Winchell, Alan and Tracy Gorenz and Gail and John Sherwood: 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way.

A Rosary will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel NE - Albuquerque on Friday, June 9, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m., Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with a Reception after at Mary and Lou's home, 11010 Wilshire Ave, NE. Pallbearers will be Mary's 12 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. We extend a special thanks to her various caregivers for their loving attention.
