On January 1, 2019, the very beautiful, kind, generous, thoughtful, and spiritual lady, Mary (Adcock) Duggins, was called to be with her savior, Jesus Christ.
This fine woman was born October 29, 1954, to Gwen and David Adcock, in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
She and Dennis Duggins met when they were 14 years old and married in 1973. They raised a wonderful son, Christopher Duggins.
In 1992, Mary earned a Master of Science Degree in Health Education from the University of New Mexico. Two years later, she passed the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators. She worked in that field for many years, which included diabetic institutions. Later in life, she worked with her husband at the Antique Mall and enjoyed a variety of part-time jobs.
In 1999, Mary suffered a stroke while being operated on for a benign brain tumor, which left her with debilitating physical problems. She was in the hospital and Rehab for many months. But, she did not let that misfortune keep her from living a full, meaningful, and productive life.
With the loving care of her family members and her self-determination, she was able to return to a worthwhile and valuable lifestyle, which she enjoyed to an overflowing degree. She attributed her successful rehabilitation to the Four P’s: Prayer, Patience, Perseverance, and Persistence. And that is how she lived her life.
Her passions in life were caring for family and friends; exercise; cooking; home entertaining; fashion; and the study of the Bible. She did each one with a heart full of love and commitment.
Mary was a long-time, devoted member of the Hoffmantown Church and attended Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for over 20 years.
She is survived by her mother, Gwen Adcock, of Durango, Colorado; husband, Dennis Duggins, of Bernalillo, New Mexico; son, Christopher (Jeanne), granddaughters, Bryce and Bristol Duggins, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sister, Debbie VanWinkle (Lee), of Durango, Colorado; brother, Kenneth Adcock (Kim) of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Dorothy Duggins, of Farmington, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Sharon Duggins, of Farmington, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Phyllis Duggins, of Farmington, New Mexico; and many loving nephews, nieces, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her devoted father, David Adcock.
Mary had a host of friends and will be sorely missed by them and family members. She was an inspiration to many.
