Mary I. Cromer, 75, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt was called to her eternal resting place on Monday, November 6, 2023. She entered this world May of 1948, in Los Alamos, NM, born to Stanley and Frances Sniezek. Mary loved balloons, Koalas, and was a true cat lover with many throughout the years that provided her love, support, and companionship. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Mary; mother and father, Frances and Stanley; aunt and uncle, Inez and Bill Gill; nephew, Matthew Alan Beg; and her many fur babies.
Mary is survived by her sister, Michelle and husband, Gary; nephew, Jeffrey Beg; niece, Kari Schnakenberg and husband, Sean; great-nieces, Krista R. Andrew and husband, Brian; Mia A. Galaviz and husband, Carlos; and Chloe C. Schnakenberg; great-great-niece, Everly R. Andrew; and great-great-nephew, Liam A. Galaviz.
Mary enjoyed life to the fullest. After receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree from UNM, she ran the rivers of New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah in a kayak, and flew her hot air Balloon, Windbound, over the skies of Colorado and New Mexico. After her many adventures on the water and in the sky, she began her life in politics working with Gary Hart, Tim Wirth, and others in Colorado. She moved back to Albuquerque, took a job in retail and then went to work for the Anderson School of Management where she worked until she retired in 2016.
The family would like to extend our sincerest thank you for the kindness, compassion, and care that the nurses and doctors at Lovelace ER, night shift, provided to Mary and the family during her last days. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff at the Presbyterian Hospice Inpatient Care Center. Their gentleness and compassionate care made her passing quiet and easy. A special thank you from the family goes to Suzy Sanchez Beg, for her countless hours of support while Mary was nearing the end.
