Mary Cordova passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2021, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. She fought the cancer head-on, never complained, and put up a valiant fight.
Mary loved her time in the kitchen, cooking, and baking. She enjoyed painting retablos and she was an accomplished seamstress. But what she loved most of all was her family. Her devoted husband, her children, and especially grandchildren were everything to her, along with her parents, aunts and uncles, siblings, and nephews, and nieces.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Flora and Benny (Garcia), sisters Jo (Robles) and Lupe (Robles), and brothers Manuel (Serna), Ernie Garcia, and Eloy (Serna). She is survived by her husband Tony, sisters, Carmen (Duree) and Viola (Garcia); her son, Mark, and her daughter and son-in-law, Durees and Mark (Newell), grandchildren, Travis (Newell), Amanda (Newell), and Erika (Krysiak), many cousins, nephews, nieces, wonderful in laws, and her cherished friends she considered family as well.
Memorial service will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at The Shrine of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation at https://nmcancercenter.org/foundation/ or NMCC Foundation, 4901 Lang Avenue NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 or another charity of your choice.
In the near future, a Celebration of her life so beautifully lived will take place. We will send out notifications prior to the event.
