Mary Beth Chumney

With hope in the resurrection, we announce the falling-asleep of Mary Beth Chumney (nee Jannakos) on October 1, 2024. Mary Beth was born on April 24, 1970, in Denver, Colorado to Nicholas and Elizabeth Jannakos. She was a graduate of Wheatridge High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she excelled in Journalism. A devoted wife to Daniel R. Chumney and a loving mother to Luke and Sophia, Mary Beth was cherished especially by her older brothers Fr. Paul and Mark Jannakos, and her devoted sisters in law Robin and Teresa.

Mary Beth's career as a proposal manager at Emcore/Solaero showcased her passion for writing proposals, especially in the field of solar energy for satellites. Her love for the mountains and hiking shone through her travels with family over the years. Mary Beth was a faithful member of All Saints of North America Orthodox Church in Albuquerque.

The visitation for Mary Beth will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am and a mercy meal in the church hall at All Saints of North America Orthodox Church 10440 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.
