Age 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, died Friday, December 5, 2014. She is survived by her sons, Michael Carstensen and wife, Joanne of Orange Beach, AL, and their children, Jeannie, Jon and Carl, and Anthony Carstensen and wife, Anne of Albuquerque and their children, Karen, Patrick, and Taylor; ten great-grandchildren; brother, George F. Masson Jr.; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale M. Carstensen in 2002; and her daughter, Janet Morris in 1975 who is survived by her daughter, Amanda. Mary's two sisters, Dorothy Luckenbill, and Mildred Whitted also preceded her in death. Mary had a strong interest in music and could play the piano, violin and organ. She sang in a number of choral groups. Mary had a strong religious faith and was a long-time member serving as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. She loved to travel, play golf, read, and do crossword puzzles. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, December 13, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas Chapel with a reception to follow. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in her name to your favorite charity.
