Mary Frances Carlo

April 24, 1952 — June 30, 2024

Albuquerque

The world became brighter on April 24, 1952, the day that our mother, Mary Frances Marin was born. It's with a heavy heart we announce her last breath was taken on June 30, 2024, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Our mom lived her rambunctious young life in Clovis, NM with her five sisters and one brother, along with our grandparents' large family nearby. Mom is preceded by her beloved father, Eloy Marin; her favorite brother-in-law Lenny Noice, and several aunts and uncles.

"A child's first love is their mother and a mother's last love is her children." Mom is survived by her "greatest blessings," her daughter Stephanie "Raven" Nelson (Son-in-Law Randy Nelson), her son Christopher Marin (Daughter-in-Law Jennifer Montez), her mother Mary Esther Marin, six siblings, and her grandchildren: Alex, Kiana, Alyssa, Ethan, and Jacob.

Mom was very strong willed and stubborn at times, but she loved her family fiercely. She was loyal and she was the strongest person (physically and mentally) who knew how to persevere life's challenges. She was full to the brim with knowledge gained through her life's experiences and passions (drag racing and her love for fast cars were just a few). Her work ethic was something to be honored and that she was very proud of: Clovis County Clerk's office, Roswell EMT-Paramedic and Trainer, 15 years with Seattle Western District of Washington-Federal US District Probation Office (GO SEAHAWKS as she would yell), Retired Eastern-New Mexico Deputy Medical Examiner and Kitsap Deputy County Medical Examiner for a combined 27 years.

In true Mary Carlo fashion, there are no services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance. In honor of her final wishes, mom's ashes will be spread in the gorgeous mountains of Colorado at a later date.

Even at the end, mom found the strength to smile. We leave our family with this...

"And if I go, while you're still here...

Know that I live on,

vibrating to a different measure --

behind a thin veil you cannot see through.

You will not see me, so you must have faith.

I wait for the time when we can soar together again,

Until then, live your life to its fullest.

And when you need me,

Just whisper my name in your heart, ...

I will be there."
