Mary D. Bejcek, Age 91, passed away December 15 peacefully in her sleep. Mary was born in Cleveland Heights, OH and attended Bowling Green University where she met the love of her life, Charles. After marriage, they moved around the US and Bermuda due to Chuck's work. Mary volunteered at her kids' schools, and various committees and organizations at church. Her biggest volunteer commitment was with Meals on Wheels, where she delivered for over 50 years both in Albuquerque and in Midland, Texas. She was a member of Sandia Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder and Deacon for many years. Thursdays were dedicated to her bowling league, where she bowled up until 2016, before she had hip surgery. She worked as a crossing guard in her neighborhood for over 20 years for elementary kids and enjoyed when those kids were older and came back to see her.
Mary is survived by son Lewis and daughter-in-law Rebecca; grandchildren Thomas (Taylor), Justin, Jessica, and Gabriel; as well as several great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by daughter Janet; husband Chuck; and son James.
The family would like to thank The Village of Alameda and Ambercare for taking care of Mary for the last few months.
A public viewing will take place on Thursday, December 22nd from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the FRENCH-Wyoming. A Celebration of Life is planned at Sandia Presbyterian Church at 11:00am on January 14th, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels.
