Martin wrote the following obituary: During WW II, I served two years, two months, and six days in the United States Army and was never once demoted from the rank of private. I was a graduate of Boston Latin School, Brown University, and Harvard Law School but was never a part of the Eastern Establishment. However, I always felt that my life in New Mexico as well as my part-time teaching as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the College of Saint Joseph on the Rio Grande (U of A) from 1965 to 1967 and subsequently at the Anderson Schools of Management from 1967 to 1980 did make me a part of the Western Establishment. My family was my joy. My wife of 67 years, Ruth, can verify that I was handsome, fun to be with, and oh yes, bald. Ruth and I moved to La Vida Llena in February 2010-a great place for the two of us. And our kids were thrilled-Mom and Dad would be taken care of when the inevitable happened. I died peacefully in my sleep after a long bout with life.
