Martha "Marty" L. Lambert

Former State Representative Martha Louise “Marty” Lambert, 81, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, the eighth day of March 2019.  Marty was born in Douglasville, Georgia on Saturday, March 27, 1937 and is survived by her sisters, Helen Chapel, Gloria Riedel, Jane Skinner, Diane Sedlack; and brothers, Bob Lowery, Stanley Lowery, and John Lowery.  Marty was preceded in death by brother, Edward Lowery; and sister, Betty Agee.

She moved to Albuquerque in 1958 where she met and married Dr. Paul D. Lambert, who became a prominent Albuquerque Dentist.  The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2019.  Marty is also survived by her husband, Dr. Paul Lambert; daughter, Melanie Cravens; and sons, Dr. Kurt Lambert, Brett Lambert, and Matt Lambert.  She leaves behind nine grandchildren, Chad Cravens, Brittney Defferies, Kady Cravens, Kyle Lambert, Paul Quinten Lambert, Cameo Lambert, Shelby Lambert, Haley Lambert, Hannah Lambert; and two great-grandchildren, Quinn Lambert and Noriah Perkins.

Marty is celebrated as a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Upon returning from UMKC Dental School in 1960 with a brand-new baby girl Marty worked alongside Dr. Paul building their dental practice and for 42 years they diligently served countless dental patients.  Marty worked for many years as a REALTOR® as she loved helping clients pursue their dreams of homeownership.  In 1981 Marty was elected to the New Mexico House of Representatives where she served with distinction until 1994.  As a legislator she is remembered as an outspoken, smart, classy, and dedicated southern belle.  She was undoubtedly conservative and never shied away from a spirited debate on any topic.

Marty is loved and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Memorial Celebration is to be held Friday, March 22, 2019, 1:00 pm at FRENCH-Lomas, followed immediately by a reception.
