Martha K. (Shephard) Lockamy

Martha K. Lockamy ("Marty"), age 82, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri since 2021, and an amazing mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Marty was born on Wednesday, September 4, 1940, in Rochester, Pennsylvania to Harris and Josephine Shephard. Prior to moving to Kansas City to be close to her daughter and family, Marty was a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She is survived by her daughter, Katie Lockamy Lynch and her husband Drew Lynch of Overland Park, Kansas, her grandchildren, Emmie Lynch, (9), Scarlet Lynch (7) and Hunter James Lynch (5); her sister, JoAnn and her husband Neldon Jenson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and her sister, Dorothy Waterman of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Marty was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lockamy, her mother, Josephine Shephard and her father, Harris Shephard. Marty enjoyed traveling and helping other people travel and spent most of her life working for the travel industry. She worked for the airlines, she managed a travel agency, and she retired from her beloved Delta Airlines in 2016. In her free time, Marty was also an avid baker. Marty was a longtime member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she volunteered with the children's choir when her daughter was young. Marty loved to laugh. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandma, and she is dearly missed. A Visitation will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. The Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
