Martha Ruth Clugston, age 84, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 10, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Martha was born April 4, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William "Bill" Cornelius Dudley and Ruby "Opal" Maxwell Dudley. She married Jerry Wayne Clugston February 19, 1960, and moved to Farmington, New Mexico, in 1965. In 2018, Martha moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, the Sandoval County Meadowlark Senior Center, the Albuquerque Masonic Temple Lodge #6 Quilters, the New Mexico Cherokee Community, the Aztec Chapter #53, Order of the Eastern Star, the Farmington Eastside and Northside Churches of Christ and the San Juan County Extension Homemakers. Martha also volunteered as "a Pink Lady" at San Juan Regional Medical Center and worked a short time for Clarks' Turquoise.
Martha dedicated her life to Jesus and taking care of her husband, children, and the family home. Martha had many hobbies including: quilting, ceramics, painting, canning, cross stitch, flower arrangements, card making, and beaded and wire wrap jewelry. Jerry and Martha were lucky enough to spend 6 or so months a year traveling around in their RV. For many years, they enjoyed camping with family and friends, seeing beautiful places and making wonderful new friends and memories along the way.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, older brother, Glenn Dudley, and older sister, Jean Dudley.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Willis (Garry) of Albuquerque; son, Jimmy Clugston (Clare) of Farmington; grandsons, Grant and Zachary Willis; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn and Cooper Bealko, all of Albuquerque, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha's Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache Street Farmington, NM 87401. Martha will then be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, NM. Immediately following, there will be a reception at Animas Lodge #15, 114 N Behrend Ave. Hosted by the York Rite Body of Farmington and their ladies.
