McGuire - Marsha Karen Baca McGuire, 66, passed away on Thursday June 28th 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Marsha was predeceased by her parents Leo and Henri C de Baca. She is survived by her three children, Ryan, Rory (Jessica), and Mindy McGuire (Aaron Friedman), her three grandchildren Allison, Leo, and Penny McGuire, and a fourth grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her extensive network of beloved family and friends.Marsha spent her young life traveling the world with her military parents, and would often speak of her many adventures, and the extraordinary people she met along the way. She had a way with others, quickly making friends with anyone she met, and she made sure to maintain those friendships throughout her life. Meanwhile, her heart and roots remained with her family in New Mexico, with whom she had an unbreakable bond. She loved her large family more than anything, and loved spending every moment possible smiling and talking with them.Marsha was strong, happy, and always ready to have a good time. She brightened every room she entered with her charisma, the gleam in her eyes, and her signature smile. Even in her death, she wished her family and friends to celebrate and enjoy her life, rather than be sorrowful. Thus her children ask her family and friends to join them in a Celebration of Marsha's Life, during which much laughter, memory sharing, and a happy time are expected. Marsha's children also ask her family and friends for stories and memories from her life, as well as copies of people's favorite pictures of Marsha. Stories and pictures can be emailed to m2machi@me.com, or brought and left with her children during her Celebration of Life. Finally, her children wish to thank family and friends for their love and support during Marsha's illness, her death, and the future. The Celebration of Marsha's Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 3301 Mountain Rd NW, on Monday July 2nd from 6 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, Marsha asked that contributions be made to the UNM Cancer Center in her name.
