H. Marlene Blair of Albuquerque died November 16 with her daughter Lauren Hegna by her side. Marlene was born February 2, 1942, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Marlene was a graduate of the University of New Mexico.
She had several careers throughout her lifetime, including being a CPA, a realtor, and a concierge at Tamaya Resort. She was a member of Phi Beta Phi and remained close with her Pi Phi sisters until her death. Marlene was an avid gardener and frequently had cars stop to admire and talk about her gardens.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Sybil Black; sister Donna Sue Hyatt; and husband Jack Blair. She is survived by daughters, Leslie Johnson; Lauren Hegna (Corey); grandchildren, Jacob Hegna and Emily Hegna; and sister Sandra Bacon (Bob).
She will be remembered for her love of family, gardening, chocolate, and her dog Mollie. She will be buried in Carlsbad, New Mexico with her husband, Jack. Services will be held Spring 2024 in Carlsbad.
