Marketta Painter Damonte

Marketta Damonte of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Marketta was born and raised in Crowell, Texas and was the daughter of Lewis and Lottie Painter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Ann. Marketta attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she met her husband, Carlton, who was an aviation cadet stationed at Reese Air Force Base. She followed him all over the world in his military career, while raising their three children, Teresa Perry (Dana), Joseph Damonte (Kit), and Mary Cade (Lonnie).

After retiring to Albuquerque, Marketta spent 40 years in the real estate business, most recently with Vista Encantada Realtors. Her hobbies included playing bridge, reading, and hosting family get togethers at her home.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, Carlton, Marketta is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
