Mark Shumate

MARK SHUMATE age 62, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna L. Shumate of Albuquerque; daughters, Jenny Shumate and Tina Autry; son, Jason R. Shumate and wife, Laura all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Amber M. Autry, Landon E. Shumate, and Eden J. Shumate; brother, Scott Shumate and wife, Patricia, of Lebanon, MO; father-in-law, Richard H. Rogers of Englewood, CO; and many other family and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy Shumate; and his daughter, Katie. He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver. He was president of Shumate Constructors, a company he founded with his partner, Dennis Thompson, and grew to a successful and influential construction company in Albuquerque and the surrounding area. Mark was known as a hardworking man and a wonderful friend of many. He touched the lives of so many people and was deeply loved by everyone who knew him. Mark was a member of Grace Church. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 25, 2012, 3:00 p.m., at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio Dr. NE, Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place.
