Mark Martinez, age 37, beloved brother and son, was called to his eternal resting place on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. He was a native New Mexican born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 15,1982. Mark attended St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Pius High School and then the University of New Mexico. Mark made his imprint on all of us. His contagious smile, kind heart and generous soul was felt by everyone he met. Mark was a part of a state championship football team at St. Pius in 1999 and state runner-up in baseball in 2001. He was also a brother in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at UNM where he met his closest friends, including his best friend Jerrod Sanchez. Mark took pride in all he did. He was the first one at an event, never empty-handed and loved to learn, share and engage in conversation. Mark was a die-hard San Francisco 49ers, Boston Red Sox and UNM Lobo fan. More, than that, he just loved the game. He would try to convert you if he could. Mark loved to read, loved Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, the Marvel and DC Comic movies. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. He is survived by his mom Geri Quintana with partner Monica Gurule, father Mark Martinez Sr. and wife Marci Martinez, sister Marisa Roddy, brother-in-law Tony Roddy, sister Lila Martinez, brother Cole Martinez, maternal grandparents Inez and Sam Quintana and paternal grandmother Bea Lopez. Mark was a loved and cherished uncle to Isabel Roddy, Lucas Roddy and Logan Roddy.
