Mark Kozemchak

Mark Robin Kozemchak peacefully departed on January 16th, 2025. A beloved father, husband, brother, and son, Mark was 66 years old.

Born October 31, 1958, in Latrobe, PA to William and Patricia Kozemchak, Mark was the 3rd of their seven children: Sheri, Karen, Jeff, Brian, Ken, and Lori. He graduated from Derry Area Senior Highschool in 1977.

Mark was a proud Nittany Lion and received his Bachelor's degree in 1981 from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982 from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Upon graduation, the Air Force assigned Mark (Captain Kozemchak) to the Advanced Radiation Technology Office, Air Force Weapons Laboratory, at Kirtland Air Force Base, bringing him to Albuquerque, NM. It was here that Mark met the love of his life, Stephanie Jaramillo. He wooed her immediately (he was quite the dancer), and the pair married on September 3, 1988, earning Mark the title of "Daddio" to Victoria Padilla. Eventually, Kelly and Michael rounded out their beautiful family.

After the Air Force, Mark worked as a Senior Laser Engineer at Boeing for over 20 years, where he worked on special projects such as the laser and electro-optical systems. He retired in 2024. His family will confidently tell you that he was the smartest man in just about any room he walked in to.

Our favorite memories of Mark include watching Pittsburgh Steelers games together (and hating on the Cowboys), enjoying a beer on the backyard patio, fly fishing, downhill snow skiing, hiking and visiting local breweries.

Mark is survived by his wife, Stephanie; children, Victoria, Kelly, and Michael; his mother, Patricia; siblings, Sheri, Karen, Jeff, Brian, Ken, and Lori, and five grandchildren: Reina, Olivia, Cameron, Corey, and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his father William.

A celebration of his life will be held at French Mortuary on Golf Course on February 11th at 11am.
