Marjorie "Marge" R. Wendland, Age 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from heart and respiratory complications. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Henry C. "Hank" Wendland; five children, Sandra Davis of Riverton, WY, Kenneth Wendland and wife, Dee of Aztec, NM, Kathleen Ellison and husband, Burk of Houston, TX, Stephanie Jensen and husband, Jim of Ruidoso, NM, and Kristine Brittain and husband, Rick of Albuquerque; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and two on the way; sister, Dorothy Corkum of NC; and numerous other relatives and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pearl Laymen; and brother, Edward Laymen Jr. She was born in 1929 in El Paso, TX and graduated from El Paso High School, Class of 1946. Marge worked as a telephone operator before moving to Los Alamos in 1947 where she met Hank and they were married in 1950. They lived in Los Angeles, CA, Albuquerque, Texas and Chama, NM and returned to Albuquerque in 1985 where she spent 12 years working as the secretary at Northdale Baptist Church. Marge was an amazing cook and blessed hundreds of family and friends with her handmade Christmas stockings. She and her family supported "Connect With A Child Ministries" in Kenya, Africa and recently had a High School named for her. Marge was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas followed by a Reception.
