Marjorie Grace (Taylor) Palsce

December 8, 1922 — March 2, 2022

Marjorie Grace Palsce born Marjorie Grace Taylor beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and art educator, died peacefully Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She lived a full and colorful life. She was 99 years old. Marge was born December 8, 1922, to her pioneer parents in Bonanza, Wyoming. Marge grew up with her three siblings Bill, Helen, and Ruth on a ranch in Hyattville, Wyoming riding horseback to a one room school. Her love of the arts was started as she found herself always drawing and doodling on her schoolwork.

Marge traveled to California in her twenties attending art classes in Los Angeles and working briefly at Lockheed Martin and fondly told stories of the Hollywood glamour. Back in Wyoming Marge met John Palsce and the two fell in love and were married November 29, 1946. They had three sons Stephen, Scott, and David. Marge raised her family and continued to better herself attending college in Casper, Wyoming. Times were hard for Marge and Johnny in Wyoming, and they chose to move to Albuquerque, NM. Marge continued her art education at the University of New Mexico receiving her BA in Art. She worked for Albuquerque Public Schools at the Creative Arts Center and taught special education until retirement. Johnny passed away in 1978. Although devastated and facing difficulty Marge thrived. Staying positive she focused on purchasing real estate and forming a community for herself. She started the Marge's Creative Art Center teaching classes at her home and at the Shangri-La Cabin in Chama, New Mexico. Marge traveled to Paris and Mexico with her love of art.

Marge explored and enjoyed all mediums of art, mastering watercolor, calligraphy, pastel, quilting, puppetry and found her "muse" and a love for poetry. Marge volunteered for 20 years teaching a portrait drawing class at both Palo Duro and Highland Senior Centers. She loved gardening and selling at the local grower's market always meeting new friends and staying both healthy and active up to her last years.

Marge always happily looked after family and friends during her life. She cherished being involved in helping raise her family instilling her love, creativity, and artistry. Helping others in need in her community was never a question.

Marge is survived by her younger sister Ruth, her three sons, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She will be forever missed and honored in all our hearts.
