Marjorie Louise (Dickerhoof) Galassini

September 27, 1925 — April 10, 2020

On a beautiful Good Friday morning, April 10, 2020, Marjorie L. (Dickerhoof) Galassini went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Marjorie was born September 27, 1925, in Chanute, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Chanute and learned to fly airplanes at her father's aviation business and flight school in the early years of World War II. She then attended Kansas State University where she and her sister LaVonne were Kapa Kapa Gamma sorority sisters. Marjorie transferred to the University of New Mexico in 1943. During these war years she met a young sailor from Bernalillo, N.M., Clarence R. Galassini, whom she married in 1944. They spent a lifetime together exploring New Mexico until Clarence went to be with the Lord in 2010.

Marjorie was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas church for three decades and a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital on the west side for as many years.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Dr. Daniel R. Galassini, his wife Jerryl, and their four children, Daniel Jr., Shonn, Stacy, and Lee, and by her daughter Karen L. (Galassini) Bryant, her husband Bob, and her son Devin.

She is also survived by her sister, LaVonne Moynahan; her brother, George Dickerhoof; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
