Marjorie A. Charlesworth

CHARLESWORTH, MARJORIE A. SHACKELFORD Died Monday, August 26, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM surrounded by family and love. She was born in Kansas City, MO on March 1, 1938. Marge was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ray and Mary Shackelford. Remaining to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, William L. Charlesworth of Albuquerque, NM; sons, William and Denise Charlesworth of Springfield, MO, David and Karen Charlesworth of Bosque Farms, NM, and John Charlesworth of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Amanda and Nathaniel Hay, Ross Charlesworth, Nathan Charlesworth, William E. Dremann-Charlesworth, Maya Charlesworth and Monet Kunde, Gandalf and Dee Hudlow; and great-grandchild, Stryder Hudlow. Marge graduated from Pembroke Country Day School and attended Stephens College, and graduating from the University of Kansas in 1960. In Kansas City, she was a member of the Young Matrons and performing as the Jolly Jester for numerous productions. Marge was a gregarious and loving member of the community. In 1973, relocating to Springfield, MO, she represented many western wear manufacturers. A move to Albuquerque, NM in 1993 created her life as an active member of the church and an outdoors woman involved in camping, fishing, and raising Brittany spaniels. Marge was a loving mother and doting grandmother, she raised three sons who have grown up to be successful men and are raising families of their own. Her grandchildren have been blessed with family time spent with "Granny Marge" making crafts and all the fun she brought to life. She was a true joy to be with and always brought out the best in people, including her children and grandchildren, guiding them and loving them. We all benefited from her baking skills, gifted every year with baked and canned goodies filled with the expression of love, she was generous with her love. Her friends would say that she always had a kind word to say, drawing people to her, and genuinely wanting to know how they were and offering a helping hand as was needed. A memorial service will be held to share her stories and life on Monday, September 2, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM.
