Marilyn June Sanford Tidenberg, born in Santa Rosa, New Mexico in 1928, was the third daughter of John H. Sanford and Hallie Belle Cole Sanford. She married Harold Tidenberg in 1947. Even though they divorced in 1976, they remained friends until he died. She was very close to his parents, Charles and Mary Lee Tidenberg. She even enjoyed several trips with Mary Lee.
June graduated from Albuquerque High School and University of New Mexico. In college, she joined Alpha Chi Omega. She was an accountant for many businesses in Albuquerque throughout her career. Her interests included travel, photography, gardening. She was in a gardening club when her children were young and she always had flowers in her yard. She also served as a Girl Scout leader. She accepted Christ as an adult and was active in her church, Fruit Avenue Baptist which is now First Bilingual Baptist Church, where she was involved as a Sunday school teacher, a Women of Mission leader, and did accounting until her health no longer allowed her to be active.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Margaret Cropley; Harold Tidenberg and his parents. She is survived by her three children, Connie Shelton and husband, Dan, Charlotte "Sherri" Bowers and husband, Roger, and Rusty Tidenberg; four grandchildren, Stephanie Dewey and husband, Doug, Brandon March and wife, Laura, Jennifer Chapman and husband, Cary, and John Bowers and wife, Anna; six great-grandchildren; her nephew, Paul Cropley and wife, Sheila, and their children and grandchildren, whom she treated as if they were her own.
June's services will be held at FRENCH - University, Saturday, March 23, 2024, beginning with a viewing and 12:00 p.m. and service to follow at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A reception will follow at the FRENCH - University Reception Center.
