Marilyn was born in Albuquerque in 1944 to Alyce and Maxie Jernigan. She grew up in Santa Fe and Albuquerque with her older brother, Tom and graduated from Sandia High School. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, MO, where she made many lifelong friends before returning to Albuquerque. She earned a BA in Philosophy, minoring in Journalism, from UNM.
She was an active member of P.E.O., which promotes educational opportunities for women, for many years, and maintained strong bonds with her P.E.O. sisters.
Marilyn was first married to James Lauck not long after her graduation, and they lived together in Las Vegas, NV for several years before separating.
On returning to Albuquerque, she worked for BDM Corp. as a technical editor for highly classified documents. She rose to manager of the editing department and was known for her excellent management as well as technical skills.
She met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Antinone, while they worked together at BDM, and they were married in 1979. The couple have two children: daughter, Kouri Z. Antinone, deceased; and son, Maxie C. Antinone (with wife, Renee A.) of Albuquerque.
Marilyn and Bob traveled extensively, spending a total of 4 weeks in Italy and 3 in the UK over various trips. They also toured most of Europe and drove throughout the US and western Canada, visiting many National Parks and loved ones along the way.
She volunteered part-time at her children's schools. She was a voracious reader, preferring mystery novels; and had a great love for movies, cartoons, jigsaw puzzles, cooking traditional Lebanese food, and collecting Christmas tree figures and ornaments.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Kouri Z. Antinone; and parents, Alyce Kouri Jernigan and Maxie Osmond Jernigan. She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Max and daughter-in-law, Renee; brother, Thomas Jernigan and sister-in-law, Elizabeth; and countless friends, family members, and loved ones.
