Marie Smith

Age 91, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She is survived by son, Stephen and wife, Bjorg Austrheim-Smith of Newcastle, CA; son, Bradley and wife, Anita Smith of Edgewood, NM; son, Philip and wife, Kelly Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, five Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Leon. Marie was a lover of all outdoor activities: tennis, hiking, skiing, riding horses, and raising beautiful flowers and fresh produce in her garden. She enjoyed planning and preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Her favorite activity was fly-fishing; she spent much of her life with a fishing rod in her hand in the mountains of Colorado, New Mexico, and British Columbia. Marie's adventures took her to 5 continents where she experienced different cultures and food. She was brave and willing to try almost anything. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, 10:00 am at FRENCH - Lomas. She will be laid to rest privately at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Sally Kalemba, William Patterson, Anita Rothe-Smith, Kelly Smith, Bradley Smith, and Philip Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Andy Rogulich and Stephen Austrheim-Smith.
