Marie Jeanette (Jeanie) Korish

Marie Jeanette (Jeanie) Korish, born March 10, 1931 in Bend, OR, and a longtime resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM, passed into Eternal Life with our Lord on December 11, 2013 after a long illness. She loved her family and always made them her highest priority. She was a published writer of short stories and poetry, and an artist - painter and sculptor. She was a lover of nature, particularly enjoying gardening, fall colors, fresh snow, clouds, birds, special stones and flowers. She particularly loved having coffee and conversation with visiting family members. She was the daughter of Henry Leo and Agnes Elsie Chrisman, and the Mother of Brian, who preceded her in death. She was married to Dean Aloysius Korish on June 16, 1951. She was beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She is survived by her son Michael Korish of Albuquerque, NM; her son Steven Korish and wife Theresa, and their sons Brian and Ian, of South Berwick, ME; her daughter Deanna Holloway and husband Al of Riverton, WY, and their son Kris Holloway and wife Bonnie (sons Harper and Walker), of Celina, TX, and their son Billy Holloway and wife Ava (daughters Alex, Caitlin and Jillian, and son Hunter), of Frisco, TX; her daughter Kerrie Sena and husband Patrick, and their son Michael and wife Clare, and their daughter Juanita Pfaff and husband Aaron (daughters Ashlee and Isidora, and son Jude), and their daughter Christa and Fiancé Phill Rogers (son Isaac and daughter NoaRose), and their daughter Emilee Reinholz and husband Barry, of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter Sheryl Duran and husband Joe, and their son DJ, and their daughters Amanda, Katrina, and Samantha (grandchildren Antonio and Jazalyn) of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter Jeanie Maisel and husband Skip, and their sons Tanner and Skyler, and their daughter Cassidy, of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her sister Shirley and husband John Mares, of Albuquerque, NM; her sister Barbara Kurts, of Albuquerque, NM; her brother John Chrisman, of Stonington, IL; and her brother Joe Chrisman and wife Jewell, of Gresham, OR, and many nieces and nephews. Marie taught at St. Mary's Elementary for one year and taught English at the University of New Mexico for 10 years. She earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Masters' Degree in English from the University of New Mexico. She was a lifetime learner and educator. She was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. In her younger years, she taught religious education and her family was active in the Christian Family Movement. Mom, may God greet you and say "Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant". A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Sacred Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish located at 2621 Vermont N.E. Albuquerque, NM.
