Lourdes, or Lou as she was more commonly known, was born in the mountain village of Manzano, NM. Then, Lourdes Sedillo, graduated from Mountainair High School. Lou also lived in Estancia, NM for many years, where she met her husband, Bennie Brito. Shortly after they married, Lou and Bennie moved to Albuquerque where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

Early in her career, Lou worked for Sandia Base and Public Service Company of New Mexico. She went on to work at Legal Aid Society and for Federico Ballejos, Attorney-at-Law. After over 30 years as an Administrative Assistant at the UNM School of Medicine, Family Practice Center, she retired in 2005.

Lou was a highly active member of the Albuquerque theatre and music community. She starred in, and had a variety of roles in musicals and plays at Albuquerque Musical Theatre and Albuquerque Little Theatre. She also sang with the Albuquerque Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Civic Chorus for many years.

Lou was also an active member and soloist with various church choirs, including, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Charles Borromeo.
Lourdes is survived by her children, Teresa Brito-Asenap and husband, Richard Asenap, Patty Brito, Eugene Brito, M.P. Brito and wife, N. Brito; and ex-daughter-in-law, Tina Garcia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, D.T. and Teresa Sedillo; birth-Mother, Sadie Rodulfo; daughter, Carmela McClard; and her two sons, Greg McClard and Erick McClard. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Valerio Rodulfo, Antonio Rodulfo; and sister, Agripina (Pina) Lujan; as well as first-cousins, Cecilio Quintana, Martha Ramirez and Dolores King.

Ironically, 24 hours previous to her death, Lourdes lost her younger sister, Ida Garcia, who had been quite ill for a number of years. Lourdes and Bennie had many good times visiting on the front porch of their homes in Manzano, with Ida and her husband Ralph Garcia, also deceased.

"Black", as Lourdes was fondly known as, is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Tory Pruitt, Riche Asenap and wife, Alethea, Jon Asenap and wife, Yvette, Tracie Asenap and partner, Thomas Butcher, Andy Ochoa, E. Danielle Belvin and husband, Ian Colburn, Katy Steinhaus and husband, Kent, Jared Ben-Brito, Desiderio Brito, Marie Alarid and husband, Jason, Shane McKenna and wife, Erin, S.I Brito, and L.A. Brito.
"Black" was also blessed with several great-grandchildren. She is survived by Michael Pruitt, Kenneth (Kenny) Pruitt, Jakob Bernal, Alycia Asenap, Nicole Asenap, Sebastian McClard, Zoe McClard, Christopher McClard, Madison McClard, Izabella Chavez, Michael Bruce Ochoa, Carmela McClard, Nadia Alarid, Claudia Alarid, and Jason Alarid. "Black" was also blessed to live to sing many a time, with her great-great-grandaughter, Estrella Carmela Montoya Pruitt Asenap.

Also surviving is her very, very special cousin, Louise Mastrovito; beloved sister, Isabel Saavedra; and brother, Jimmy Rodulfo, and their spouses, Johnny Saavedra and Cecile Rodulfo. Also surviving is son-in law, David McClard; granddaughter-in-law, Cheryl McClard; cousins, Ursulita M. Cid, Santos Quintana, Eloisa Corona, Gilbert Quintana, Ernest Padilla and wife, Martha; sisters-in-law, Ruth Brito and Mary Lou Brito; and many nieces, and nephews; as well as great-nieces, and great-nephews; and God-children.

The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice for excellent service. Special thanks to Amanda, Aliyyah, Michelle and Korina for their professional and caring ways with Lourdes. A special thank you to friend Leticia Martinez who faithfully brought Lourdes Holy Communion and wonderful companionship.
