Marian Sype

SYPE, MARIAN ROSEAge 95, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on July 16, 2012 following a brief illness. Marian was born in Ramona, SD, and grew up in Antigo, WI. She received her nurse's training at Chicago's Mercy Hospital. Marian married Wm. Russell Sype in Chicago in 1939; their marriage lasted 46 years, ending only with his death in 1985. She lived in Tulsa OK for over 50 years, working at St. John's Hospital and for the Tulsa Public Schools. Marian moved to New Mexico in 1998 to be near her children. She is survived by her four children; Nan (Sid) Simpson, Susan (Butch) Dowler, and Wm Russell Jr., all of Albuquerque, and Peggy (Jeff) Mark, of Chatham, NJ. She also is survived by grandchildren Sid, Jeff and Jenny Simpson, Melissa (Chris) Hatfield, and Peter and Faith Sype; and by one great-granddaughter, Madeline Erin Hatfield. In recent years Marian resided at Fairwinds of Rio Rancho. A Mass of Christian Burial for Marian will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho on Monday July 23, at 10:30 AM. (Rosary at 10:00 AM) with Msgr. Douglas A. Raun, Celebrant. Interment will be at a later date next to her husband in Tulsa.
