Marian "Sparky" Ipiotis

Ipiotis, Marian "Sparky", age 90, was born in San Marcial, NM and she went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2016. She was very involved with the Catholic Church, was a crusisita, and a Eucharistic Minister. She attended Loretta Academy in Santa Fe and graduated high school in Socorro. She retired after 30 years of service with UNM. UNM's Board of Regents honored Sparky with their Award for Meritorious Service in 1987.
Marian is survived by her six children, Gary Ipiotis, Sophie Ipioits, Marcie Abeyta and husband, Joseph, Chris Ipiotis and wife, Molly and Mary Ellen Ipiotis; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ipiotis; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Ipiotis; and great-granddaughter, Adalynn.
The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 4, 2016, 6:30 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, February 5, 2016, 10:30 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
