Maria Marquez Zandstra has been delivered into our Lords loving arms on December 10, 2014. She was born in Herdez, Mexico in 1915 and worked for Kirtland ABF until retirement many years ago. Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Zandstra; her adoring daughter, Constance Zandstra; her siblings, Gonzalo Marquez, Jesus "Chuy" Marquez, Raquel Frankel, Miriam Martinez, Peter Marquez, Alfonso Marquez, Guadalupe Rottner, Estella Sanchez, Martha Romero, and Teresa Braddock. Maria is survived by her sister, Irene Urvanejo; and over 41 nieces and nephews; 66 great-nieces and nephews, 18 great-great nieces and nephews, and one great-great-great niece as far as we know. As a matriarch of this extended family, Maria was always positive, encouraging and ever cheerful. She was a longtime member of Catholic daughters and a devoted Catholic who believed deeply in her faith. Generous with her family, the poor and the homeless over many decades she is best known for greeting young and old by pinching your cheek and exclaiming "Hey Toots!" Rest in Peace Maria! A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE in Albuquerque.
